JOZEF
MIHALIK (Slovakia)

Jozef
Mihalik first came to the UK over ten years ago and now finds
himself mentioned by many Internet ports as bringing a new
sound to East European dance scene. He began mixing an edgy,
dancy and harder tekky sound with mainstream acappellas and
techno music. He has made his name by absorbing a wide range
of influences from the happening dance scene outside Slovakia
and Czech Republic and translating them into his own unique
sound. He would listen to everything from Jean Michel Jarre
to Sasha, and every crazy, trashy experimental elektronika
going!
After years of writing and building up an extensive back catalogue,
his first mainstream success came with his single 'Listen',
which reached number one in the juno.co.uk dance charts. His
original music has been played by Tiesto, Sasha, Markus Schulz
and Armin van Buuren Consequently his back catalogue has become
hot property, with singles appearing on High Contrast, Whoop
Digital, Baroque and Slamin Music.
At the same time, Jozef Mihalik has been DJ-ing across London
and he became the first Slovak to be invited to play at Stabilised,
Pacha London. He has played at Prince-dex, Whitehouse, Motion,
the Gramophone and Mango, with the DMC buzz charts commenting,
'He is an exceptional talent with the potential to go to the
very top.'
He is currently recording new material and DJ-ing both at London
residences and headlining at Slovak events. He presently has
34 tracks available for sale online. His music has also been
selected for a Global Gathering CD Compilation.
