MEKKI MARTIN (Czech Republic)

Mekki Martin has recently become a Czech icon in the dance scene due to his vilupcious and rich dedication to both production and DJing in his own country.

Since childhood, Mekki was inspired by the concept of deejaying and mixing music. At the age of 15 he landed his first gig at Brno's most prestegious club Tabarin and has been its permanent resident ever since.

In 2008, Mekki embarked on another clubbing experience at Mystery night club where he played alongside DJs such as the legendary British superstar DJ Fergie, Germany’s icon Sven Vath, Slovenia's Umek, Spain's Javy Union, Austria's Phillip Straub & Claudio Ricci and Czech's techno-queen Lucca.

Clubbers all over the Czech Republic are familiar to Mekki's sound due to his obsession with "clubbing" music. His addicting 12hour sets are well known for being emotionally charged and inspiring thanks to his constant live collaborations with Violinists and Saxophone performers which sets his show apart from anyone else in the Czech Republic and even in the European dance scene.

His unique performances even grabbed the attention of neighboring Slovak Club Ministry of Fun where he was sought after.
Since then he managed to tour all around Europe playing at prestigious clubs such as Prague's Mecca & Roxy, Vienna's Volksgarten & The Box, Ibiza & Malaga along side Radio Slave & Bob Sinclair and even next to Paul van Dyk at Beatpatrol Austria.

Mekki did not stop there, he went on to produce his first masterpieces on Czech's Acapulco Records titled "Milet Trap" and "One Moment" then established his own record label in April 2009 titled "U Recordings". The launch of the label was greeted with positive feedback and support from DJs like Roger Sanchez, Hernan Cattaneo, Ian Carey, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Yass, Mark Sherry, Andy Moore and more...

During 2009, Mekki was chosen to open for heavy weight DJs at Creamfields Central Europe and managed to perform along side starts like ATB, Above & Beyond and others.

His unique mixing precision and sensual style in house music, combined with live musicians, earned him the title of best house DJ in the Czech Republic while his dedication to his label U Recordings is expanding his horizons to compete with international superstar DJs around the world.
